This open-ended studio time is ideal for studio members, current and previous students, and individuals with some experience who want to explore their artistic interests with the guidance of our skilled instructors. During Guided Open Studio, you'll have the freedom to work on your own projects while receiving assistance as needed. Our instructors will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and provide valuable tips to enhance your creations. Participants should come with a project in mind, as this open-ended studio time is not structured as a workshop or private lesson. It's ideal for members with questions and artists who want to create at WGA but are not ready to commit to a membership. Plus, it's perfect for using with our ten-class punch card, which includes $5 in savings per session. Whether you're interested in crafting functional pottery, sculptural pieces, or experimenting with various forms and techniques, we provide all the necessary tools, clay, glazes, and equipment to bring your artistic visions to life. Guided Open Studio welcomes participants of all ages, though it's best suited for artists associated with WGA or those with ceramic experience who are considering a membership. This is a great opportunity to give our studio space a test run and explore your creativity! Please understand, Guided Open Studio isn't structured as a dedicated wheel throwing Workshop or private lesson, although our instructors can assist you with wheel throwing if you have experience and understand the fundamentals. For those new to wheel throwing, Guided Open Studio is not the appropriate setting to learn the basics of wheel throwing. An instructor may request that you focus on handbuilding if you lack experience and aren't familiar with setting up and cleaning up our pottery wheels. When working with clay, understanding the firing and glazing process is crucial. Ceramic pieces must be thoroughly dried before undergoing bisque firing, and glazing can only occur after the bisque-firing stage. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that pieces made during a single session will be ready for glazing at the following week's session. We advise scheduling a separate session for glazing at least two weeks after creating your work to allow for proper drying and firing time.
Notice of Cancellation: Students must provide a minimum of 3 days' notice for canceling their enrollment in a class or workshop to receive a refund. Cancellations should be communicated to the Studio via email, phone, or other designated communication channels. Refunds and Rescheduling: The Studio does not offer refunds or price reductions for missed sessions of classes. In case of a no-call no-show, where a student fails to attend a class without prior notification, no refunds or reschedules will be provided. If a student contacts the Studio at least 24 hours prior to a workshop, they may be eligible to reschedule their attendance for another available workshop. If the Studio cancels a class or workshop, students will be offered either a rescheduled date or a refund. Refund Process: Refunds for orders placed through the Studio's website will be processed, minus a 3% credit card fee deduction. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method, and it may take a reasonable amount of time for the refund to be processed and reflected in the student's account. Refunds will be issued on a case-by-case basis and not all refund requests will be granted, depending on the amount of notice and type of class or workshop. Website Orders: Refunds can only be made for orders placed through the Studio's website. Other forms of payment or registrations may not be eligible for refunds, depending on the circumstances and policies in place. Please note that this is a general guideline for Wildwood Green Arts's class cancellation policy. The specific terms and conditions may vary, and it is advisable for students to review the detailed policy provided by the Studio or consult with Studio staff for any clarifications.
