  • What are your studio hours?
At Wildwood Green Arts, we operate differently from traditional studios in terms of our hours of operation. While we are only staffed during scheduled classes, workshops, and guided open studio times, our studio members have the privilege of 24/7 access to the studio, allowing them to work on their projects at their own convenience. It is important to note that during non-staffed hours, members may find themselves alone in the studio and should understand and accept the associated risks and responsibilities. Please keep in mind that our class schedules are subject to change as we strive to offer a variety of classes and workshops that cater to the interests and availability of our community. To stay up-to-date with the latest class schedule, we recommend contacting us directly or visiting the workshops page on our website. Whether you are a member or not, please reach out to us to schedule a pickup or arrange a tour, as drop-ins for non-members may result in finding the studio door locked and the inability to access your work or speak with Studio Staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this regard.
  • Should I join a class or become a member?
The decision between joining a class session or Open Studio Membership depends on your specific goals and preferences. If you are new to ceramics or looking to learn specific techniques and skills, joining a class session is highly recommended. Our class sessions provide structured instruction, guidance, and a curriculum designed to help you progress in your ceramic journey. Classes are led by experienced instructors who will teach you fundamental techniques, offer demonstrations, and provide personalized feedback to help you improve your skills. On the other hand, if you already have experience in ceramics and prefer more flexibility and independent work, an open studio membership may be a better fit for you. Memberships allow you to utilize our studio facilities during designated hours and work on your own projects at your own pace. It provides a supportive and creative environment where you can explore your artistic ideas and experiment with different techniques. Please note that open studio Memberships require prior experience and familiarity with studio protocols and equipment. Ultimately, the choice between joining a class session or becoming a member depends on your individual goals, level of experience, and preferred learning style. We recommend considering your objectives and discussing with our staff to determine the best option for you. Whether you choose a class session or membership, we are committed to providing an enriching and inspiring environment to support your artistic journey.

  • Can I join a class that already started?
Unfortunately, we do not allow new students to join a class that has already started. Our classes typically run for 6 weeks, and each class session builds upon the previous ones. It is important for students to attend all sessions to fully benefit from the curriculum and progress in their learning. However, we understand that scheduling conflicts may arise, and we regularly offer new sessions of our classes in the future. We encourage you to keep an eye on our schedule and sign up for upcoming sessions that align with your availability. This way, you can start the class from the beginning and fully engage in the learning experience. We strive to provide opportunities for all individuals to participate in our classes and benefit from the instruction and artistic exploration. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you in one of our future sessions.
  • What happens if I need to cancel a class or workshop?
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and you may need to cancel your participation in a class or workshop. Our cancellation policy is as follows: For a refund: We require a minimum of 3 days' notice prior to the start of the class or workshop. If you provide the required notice, we will process a refund for the amount paid, deducting any applicable fees such as credit card processing fees. For rescheduling: If you are unable to attend the class or workshop but can provide at least 24 hours' notice, we offer the opportunity to reschedule your booking to another available class or workshop of your choice. Rescheduling is subject to availability and must be arranged within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that no-call, no-shows, or cancellations without proper notice are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling options. We encourage you to communicate any changes in your attendance as soon as possible to allow us to accommodate other participants or make necessary arrangements. Our cancellation policy is in place to ensure fairness to both participants and instructors, as well as to help us manage class sizes and materials effectively. It allows us to offer a high-quality experience to all attendees while respecting the commitment of our instructors and the needs of other participants. If the studio needs to cancel a class or workshop due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient enrollment, we will make every effort to reschedule the session at a later date. If rescheduling is not possible, we will provide a full refund for the canceled class or workshop, subtracting any applicable credit card processing fees. If you have any further questions or need to cancel or reschedule a class or workshop, please contact us. We are here to assist you and ensure a smooth process for any necessary changes to your bookings.

No, you do not need previous experience in ceramics to join most of our classes or workshops. We offer a range of classes specifically designed for beginners, providing a welcoming environment for those who are new to ceramics. These classes are structured to teach you the fundamental techniques and skills needed to create pottery and explore the art of ceramics. However, it is important to note that some classes may specify that they are intended for individuals with a certain level of experience. These classes are typically geared towards intermediate or advanced students who already have a solid foundation in ceramics and are looking to further refine their skills or explore more advanced techniques. The class descriptions will indicate the recommended level of experience, allowing you to choose the class that aligns with your skill level and interests. If you are unsure which class or workshop would be the best fit for you based on your experience, our team is here to help. You can reach out to us for guidance and recommendations on selecting the most appropriate class or workshop to meet your needs and goals. • What if I have to miss one of the classes in a session?
We understand that life events, illness, or planned vacations may occasionally cause you to miss a class within a session. Here's how we handle such situations: Communication is key: If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a specific class, please inform your instructor as soon as possible. This allows them to provide you with any relevant materials or assignments that you can work on outside of class time. Studying outside of class: If you miss a class, your instructor will typically let you know what topics or activities were covered during that session. It is important to take responsibility for catching up on the missed content and practice independently. Utilize the resources provided by your instructor, such as handouts, online materials, or recommended readings, to continue your learning journey. Makeup options: Depending on the instructor's discretion and availability, there may be opportunities to make up a missed class. Some instructors may allow you to attend their guided open studio time to work on the missed projects or receive additional guidance. However, please note that makeup opportunities are not guaranteed, and it ultimately depends on the instructor's schedule and availability. We encourage open communication with your instructor regarding any planned absences or unexpected circumstances that may cause you to miss a class. They can provide you with specific guidance and support to help you stay engaged with the course material. While we understand that life events can disrupt attendance, it is important to note that class fees cannot be reduced or prorated for missed sessions. Our classes are designed as cohesive learning experiences, and attending all sessions contributes to your overall progress and understanding of the subject matter. If you have further questions or concerns about missing a class within a session, we recommend reaching out to your instructor directly. They will be able to provide you with specific guidance tailored to the class you are enrolled in. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to your artistic journey. Our aim is to support your growth and provide an enriching learning environment for all participants.

Yes, you are welcome to participate in multiple classes or workshops simultaneously. We believe in fostering your creative growth and providing opportunities for diverse learning experiences. • What happens if I'm late to a class or workshop?
We understand that circumstances beyond your control may cause you to be late for a class or workshop. While we strive to maintain a structured schedule for the benefit of all participants, we do our best to accommodate latecomers. Here's how we handle late arrivals: Standard policy: If you arrive late to a class or workshop, please be aware that you will not receive additional time to make up for the missed portion. The class will continue as scheduled, and you will join the group at the point when you arrive. Instructor's discretion: Individual instructors may have their own policies regarding latecomers, as they manage the flow and progression of their classes. We recommend discussing your situation with the instructor during the first class session or contacting them in advance if you anticipate potential lateness. They can provide specific guidance or make any necessary adjustments to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved. It's important to note that arriving on time allows you to fully participate and benefit from the class or workshop, as well as respect the experience of other participants. We encourage you to plan your travel accordingly to arrive promptly and maximize your engagement with the content and activities. If you have concerns about potential lateness or need further clarification on the policies for a specific class or workshop, we recommend reaching out to the instructor or our studio staff. We are here to assist you and provide any additional information or guidance to ensure a positive learning experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our policies and guidelines. Our goal is to create an inclusive and respectful environment where all participants can thrive and enjoy their creative journey.

  • Can I bring my own clay and materials?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own clay and materials to our studio. However, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind: Clay compatibility: We fire our pieces to cone 6, so it is crucial that any clay you bring from outside the studio is compatible with this firing temperature. Different types of clay have varying firing ranges, and it is important to ensure that your clay can withstand the appropriate temperature for successful firing. No reduction firing: Our studio primarily glaze fires to cone 6, and we do not offer reduction firing. Please ensure that any materials or glazes you bring are suitable for this firing range. Additional fee for external clay: While bringing your own clay or glaze does not affect our studio membership or class fees, we do charge a nominal $15 fee for using clay brought from outside the studio. This fee helps cover the extra space used in the kilns for firing additional clay. If you choose to purchase clay directly from us, it is available at a cost of $35 for a 25-pound bag. We provide clay as part of our studio membership, and the clay prices we offer reflect the materials and firing services included. If you prefer to bring your own clay, we are happy to accommodate that choice, but it is important to follow the guidelines mentioned above. If you have any further questions or need clarification regarding bringing your own clay or materials, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to ensure that your ceramic experience at our studio is enjoyable and successful.
  • Do I need to bring my own tools?
As a student or member of our ceramic studio, you do not need to bring your own tools. We provide a well-equipped studio with a variety of tools and equipment for your use during classes or open studio sessions. By providing the necessary tools, we ensure that all participants have access to high-quality equipment and can focus on their creative process without the need to invest in their own tools initially. This also allows us to maintain consistency in the tools available, ensuring that everyone has access to the essentials needed for their projects. However, if you have specific tools or personal favorites that you prefer to work with, you are more than welcome to bring them along. Many artists find comfort and familiarity in using their own tools, and we encourage you to bring any specialized tools that enhance your artistic process. If you are unsure about which tools are provided or have any questions about specific tools you may need for a particular class or workshop, please feel free to reach out to us. We are here to assist you and ensure that you have a positive and productive experience in our ceramic studio.

Please keep in mind that as the member, you are responsible for ensuring that your guest follows our studio policies and guidelines. As these shelves are in high demand, we prioritize their use for our studio members and students who have added memberships onto their classes.
