Tile and Platter Workshop
Service Description
During this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of basrelief while creating a set of 3 tiles or a platter. Using slab-rolled clay, you’ll sketch, etch, and sculpt designs to add texture and dimension to add texture and dimension to your piece. Participants will get to choose between making a 3 piece tile set or a single platter. All materials will be provided, and participates are welcome to bring ideas or reference material to help create your design. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, our Hand-Building Workshops cater to all skill levels. Each session focuses on a unique hand-building project, allowing you to explore new techniques and styles. Our workshops provide a supportive and inspiring environment to nurture your creative journey. The workshop instructor will demonstrate the project listed for the session; participants have the freedom to follow the project or explore their creativity with other ideas. The instructor will be available throughout to assist, answer questions, and demonstrate techniques to aid participants. If a participant is creating something that the instructor deems not suitable for firing, they will explain specific size and shape restrictions to ensure that all projects have optimal chances of surviving the firing process. While these workshops are primarily designed for all-ages, young children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Your finished pieces will be fired and ready for pickup within 30 days of the workshop date. All workshops require a minimum of 2 participants to proceed. If the minimum number of participants is not met 48 hours before the workshop, registered participants will receive a cancellation notification. They will be given the option of a full refund, the choice of another workshop of equal value, or the chance to invite friends to reach the minimum. Participants can continue to book until the start time of the workshop. We maintain a maximum of 12 participants per workshop to ensure ample workspace and personalized instruction.
