Service Description

Prerequisite: Prior wheel throwing experience; must be able to throw a 2+ lb cylinder. Cost: $70; includes 5 lbs of a white clay body. 1. Sunday, August 23rd: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM 2. Sunday, August 30th: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM 3. Sunday, September 6th: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM 1. Sunday, August 23rd: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Sodium Silicate Workshop Learn how to use sodium silicate to create a crackle pattern on your pottery pieces. Take your creations to the next level by layering the sodium silicate for a super chunky look! Participants will throw their own pieces and receive guided instruction every step of the process. 2. Sunday, August 30th: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Off the Hump Workshop Dive into the unique method of throwing off the hump, a technique that allows you to create multiple pottery pieces from a single lump of clay. Led by our skilled instructors, you will start with 5lbs of clay on the wheel and learn how to efficiently produce a large quantity of pottery in one sitting. This workshop is perfect for experienced potters seeking to streamline their workflow. 3. Sunday, September 6th: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Creating Larger Thrown Forms: Two Piece Vessels Workshop Explore the art of creating larger and more complex pottery pieces on the wheel. Designed for experienced ceramic artists; our instructor will guide you through the steps of throwing and joining wheel-thrown pieces to create larger pottery. This workshop will push your planning and precision to ensure that the individual components fit together seamlessly and maintain structural integrity during the firing process. To ensure personalized instruction and ample access to the pottery wheels, we limit our workshops to a maximum of 7 participants. This allows for a focused and engaging learning experience. Each workshop must have a minimum of 3 participants to proceed. You will be notified 2 days prior to the workshop if our minimum enrollment is not met. You will receive an email when pieces are finished processing and ready for pick up. Pickup is available 24/7 in the bins located outside of the studio by the entrance door.
